| I travelled to Reno, Nevada, last friday on a last minute 'whim' which was passed on to me by my advisor about 2-3 days before. As expected, airfare is about double on short notice, even though the plane was well below half capacity. If anyone is going to be in the Las Vegas airport, please note that its BUSY AS SHIT in the morning for a 6 am departure.... I was sure I was going to miss my flight and I was there at 5 am...
Anyways, the meeting in Reno was for CREG (the Center for Research in Economic Geology), which funds numerous undergraduate economic geology related theses. I was able to meet with several big names, as well as interest them in my proposed project, a combination of geochemical modelling and petrography of the intrusive suites throughout the district. Alot of handshaking and baby kissing.
Update on my bike commute: It takes roughly the same time to ride 5 miles mostly uphill to school as it does to drive. Sweet.

| This post is about my new bike. The Trek 7.2 FX! Anyways, I have mentioned online to some people that I was getting a new "bike". Virtually EVERYONE replied with "a motorcycle or bicycle?". Whats the deal? I think if I was getting a motorcycle I would have referred to it as its brand, such as Harley, or Suzuki.
HERE COMES THE POLL! When you hear the phrase: "I am getting a new bike", do you think that implies, Bicycle, or Motorcycle?
